To rescue, rehabilitate and release orphaned, injured and displaced wildlife and to provide sanctuary with dignity for non-releasable native and non-native wild animals.

Description:
Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation serves San Antonio, Austin and surrounding counties as well as from time-to-time the entire state of Texas. We are widely recognized as a superior wildlife rehabilitation and sanctuary facility and are accredited by the Association of Sanctuaries (TAOS). WRR provides advice and assistance in dealing with human-wildlife encounters in a non-lethal manner through our 24-hour emergency hotline. We are supported by a membership of over 8,000 individuals and assisted by 150 volunteers. At Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, Inc. there are many opportunities for volunteers to learn about the hundreds of species of wildlife found in South Texas while helping them recover from injuries, illnesses, and the trauma of being orphaned.

History:
Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation was established in 1977 by Lynn Cuny. In the past 30 years well over 100,000 animals have been brought to WRR, from surrounding areas as well as from around the country. The majority of these were rehabilitated and released. WRR also provides a permanent home for a variety of birds and mammals who have been victims of the exotic pet trade, rescued from roadside zoos, or used in research labs and therefore cannot be returned to their natural habitats.
