Our Mission is to provide comprehensive services for children,youth, families, and the elderly with special emphasis on the socially and economically disadvantaged.

The Madonna Neighborhood Center are cornerstones in improving individual and family life in the community that they serve.

Description:
The Center utilizes multi-activity facilities to provide safe environments for people to access programs that develop self-esteem, character, social, and life skills. People know that the center will assist them to regain self-sufficiency when they are experiencing economic or personal crisis. The Center offers a variety of services to families in need. These include day care and after school care for children of low-income parents who are working, going to school or in job training.

Other services include Emergency Assistance such as assistance with food, clothing,and utility bills; Summer Recreation Program, Sports Program, counseling, case management, and the Senior Citizen Program. Volunteers are always needed for one hour, half day, one day, etc. Volunteers for special events throughout the year are also needed. Call us and tell us about your free time - We can use you in Daycare, Thrift Store, for excursions, etc.

History:
The Madonna Neighborhood Center is a non-profit, non-sectarian, social service agency that has existed on the West side of San Antonio for seventy(70)years. The Sisters of Divine Providence founded the Center in 1939 and worked with community residents to empower them to help themselves. Then as now the mission is to provide comprehensive services to children, families, and the elderly, with special emphasis on the socially and economically disadvantaged.
