USO San Antonio

USO San Antonio's mission is to provide military personnel and their families with morale, welfare, and recreational type activities in a "touch away from home" atmosphere. Our activities include information, referral, and family support.

Description:
USO San Antonio operates a downtown community center for military personnel and their families. We have a computer cafe, pool tables, library, reading area, and TV lounge area. The USO also sells discount tickets and provides $1.00 meals every Saturday night. In the near future the USO will operate the Military Reception Center at the San Antonio International Airport. Major military installations in our 36 county service area include Lackland AFB, Ft. Sam Houston, Randolph AFB, Brooks-City Base, Laughlin AFB, and Goodfellow AFB.

History:
USO San Antonio was established in 1942. The USO is not a federally funded agency. Funding comes from grants and local community support -- to include United Way funding. USO San Antonio is chartered through USO World Headquarters.
