Dress For Success San Antonio

Dress for Success San Antonio (DFSSA) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit agency that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged families by preparing, training, supporting, and mentoring women for the workforce.

Description:
Dress for Success San Antonio provides clothing for low-income women so that they will have something to appropriate to wear to their interview. In addition, Dress for Success San Antonio helps clients develop the professional and personal skills needed to increase self-esteem and employment potential. Each client receives a professional outfit for a job interview, work-appropriate clothing when she gets the job, and continued professional wardrobe through the job retention program, the Professional Women's Group.

History:
The first Dress for Success started in New York in 1996. San Antonio's chapter opened its doors in 2000. Today, there are around 94 Dress for Success organizations throughout the United States and eight other countries. To date (mid 2009), the local agency has served over 2,700 women.
