History:
The Epilepsy Foundation as it is known today was established in 1993. In 1995, facing serious financial hardships, the Board of Directors voted to shut down the organization. At that time Ms. Sindi Rosales who was a member of the Board of Directors volunteered to be the Executive Director in a volunteer capacity. When Ms. Rosales took the reigns of the organization in 1995 the organization had a balance of $1,800.00 in their banking account!! Ms. Rosales has served as the Director since this pivotal time in the Foundation's History. Ms. Rosales' work is inspired by her daughter Jessica, a young lady whose life was dramatically and forever changed after being diagnosed with epilepsy and undergoing a hemispherectomy in 1995. The organization has grown into an important and well respected agency in our community. The Foundation provides an important service, and each and every day makes a positive and significant impact in the lives of persons affected by epilepsy.
