Our mission is to preserve affordable housing for families in need; promote strong and safe resident communities; and create an atmosphere to maintain and encourage self-sufficiency for residents.

Description:
Housing and Community Services, Inc (HCS) provides services-enriched housing. In addition to providing affordable housing, we provide:

1. Informal case management and referral services for individuals in need.
2. Community Learning Center Programs; such as, GED classes, when needed, ESL classes, financial literacy programs, parenting classes, computer instruction, internet instruction, health fairs, arts/crafts programs, recreational programs for youth and adults, and after-school programs for youth.



History:
Housing and Community Services, Inc. (HCS) is a nonprofit community based affordable housing sponsor established in September 1993 to provide oversight and guidance for the ownership and operation of low-income multifamily housing for the benefit of families in need of housing whose annual income is 50% or less of the area median income. Currently, 21 multi-family apartment complexes are under HCS's oversight, four of them in San Antonio.
