Our mission is serving vulnerable people who are experiencing major life transitions so they may become more productive members of your community. Our vision is giving God's children a faith, a family, and a future.

Description:
Methodist Mission Home offers services through three programs. The Family Services offers hope to adoptive families, birth mothers, and adopted children through domestic, older child, and international adoptions as well as post-adoption and maternity services. The Rehabilitation Services guides young adults with disabilities toward independence through vocational/life skills training and assessment services. The Genesis Cooperative develops partnerships with nonprofit agencies serving youth with disabilities, young mothers, and homeless women with children by sharing facilities and coordinating programs on the MMH campus to promote wellness, self-sufficiency, and a spiritual well-being for all our clients.

History:
For over 100 years Methodist Mission Home has adapted and expanded its facilities and services to the changing needs of the communities we serve. Initially opened as a home for wayward women back in the late 1890's, Methodist Mission Home's current 25-acre campus continues to provide adoptive services. Recognizing another growing need MMH responded by developing our Southwest Center for Higher Independence, a transitional education program providing vocational and life skills training to young adults with multiple disabilities. Reaching out to other agencies serving similar populations we collaborate to expand our outreach to vulnerable people in our community. Genesis Cooperative is the fruition of this effort, currently consisting of VOA L.I.G.H.T. program, HandsOn, NISD LEAP program and the San Antonio Food Bank Community Kitchen.
