Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Mentors are thoughtfully matched with a child of his/her same gender. We ask for a minimum commitment of 8 hours per month, for one year, with the same child. Currently, we have about 20 residents on a waiting list to be matched with a volunteer. We also ask the mentor stay in touch by making regular phone calls and allow the child to call him/her occasionally. The mentor is also strongly encouraged to attend the child's school and sports activities, whenever possible.

Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age, agree to a background check and receive a favorable report, submit a volunteer application, submit a copy of a negative TB skin test done within the last 12 months, attend a volunteer orientation and training and come in for a mentor interview.
