Volunteer Opportunity Details:

At Meals on Wheels of San Antonio volunteers are needed to help prepare and package 3,000 hot, nutritious meals Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. through 11:00 a.m.

All meals are nutritionally balanced, which means the meals meet 1/3 of the Recommended Daily Allowance.

After preparation and packaging meals are dropped off at official Meals on Wheels pick up site, picked up by volunteers and delivered to homebound senior citizens and disabled that cannot cook for themselves, do not have a provider, not able to get out to a senior nutrition center for lunch, suffering from a chronic illness or are fighting loneliness and depression.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to work in our kitchen. We will allow volunteers that are 16 years of age or older, with adult supervision wrapping rolls or bread in our dining area.

We will provide the hair nets, aprons and gloves. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
