BookSpring, recently created from the merger of Reading Is Fundamental of Austin and Capital Area Reach Out and Read, instills children with a love of reading and promotes books as a means to success. By offering a range of programs that support early literacy, BookSpring champions the value of reading and encourages parents to read to their children from birth on, resulting in stronger families and increased lifelong opportunities for every child. We are looking for volunteers to help us develop grant proposals. Rewards: *Work with a dynamic group of staff and volunteers in an ever-changing,exciting environment *Gain valuable experience in the growing field of fund raising. *Help open the world to children through reading! Responsibilities:
- Write and edit grant proposals, reports, and letters of inquiry
- Research, organize, and analyze grant proposals
- Read and interpret requests for proposals and funding guidelines
- Research and identify new corporate and foundation prospects
Preferred: · Bachelor ' s degree · Non-profit grant-writing experience · Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills · Stellar problem solving ability · Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy · Proficiency in web-based data searches · Ability to organize information and meet deadlines
