Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Assist with the planting, caring for and gleaning of fruits, vegetables and other edible plants. Help with the construction of square foot gardening boxes, raised beds, trellis’s, walking paths and assist with general maintenance of existing structures. Duties may include composting, weeding, digging, planting, watering and/or hoeing. Dress for the weather, wear clothes and close-toed shoes that are appropriate for the garden. Gloves are helpful. Some water is provided.Cautionary Note: Individual’s sensitive to bee stings should not volunteer in the garden  This opportunity is sponsored by: San Antonio Food Bank

Take Highway 410 WEST and Exit Highway 151. Take a left at second traffic light onto Highway 151 East. Take Highway 151 East to Callaghan/Old Highway 90 Exit. Food bank is at corner of Old Highway 90 and Highway 151.
From Downtown:
Take IH-35 South to Highway 90 West. From Highway 90 West exit Highway 151 (Stotzer Freeway). Take first exit off of Highway 151, Old Highway 90 Exit. At first traffic light turn left under the bridge. SAFB is at corner of Old Highway 90 and Highway 151. |
