The LULAC National Educational Service Center (LNESC) is looking for a motivated individual willing to contribute part of their time to help the Adelante America Leadership Program Coordinator recruit students at Fox Technical High School along with the execution of program objectives. The ¡Adelante! seeks to improve interpersonal relationships between students and their peers, teachers, other adults, and family members and in doing so, reduce the dropout rate of students. The students that participate in our program come from low-income families, are at risk of dropping out, are first-generation students, and attend a low performing high school. With support from the community we can ensure the future of our society will be full of bright, motivated individuals who value education and move towards progress. Volunteers for this position should be at least a college freshmen with his or her own transportation. A background check will be administered before the Volunteer Program Assistant is able to work with the students. Good written and oral communication skills are a must. Volunteers should also be able to dedicate at least 15 to 20 hours a week to help the Adelante Program coordinator both at the LNESC office and at Fox Technical High School.
