Intake Volunteers talk with persons calling or coming into the Dispute Resolution Center who are experiencing some type of problem. The volunteer listens, evaluates the problem being experienced and offers information about mediation and other appropriate community, social service, and governmental resources which might be helpful in getting the situation resolved. Problems might include those between businesses and customers, family concerns, small-claims type disputes, child visitation issues, landlord/tenant conflicts, neighborhood disputes and workplace issues. The Intake Volunteer will also conduct in-person interviews with individuals coming to the Center to request mediation. 12 hours of training (on a flexible schedule) is provided.
