We need volunteers at our Texas Diabetes Institute to assist with maintenance and harvesting of our vegetable and herb garden. Our demonstration garden shows patients how to grow fresh food. "Hands-on" cooking classes teach people with diabetes how to make great tasting food that is good for them. Anyone with an interest in gardening is welcome. Ability to perform the physical tasks of gardening (such as bending, lifting, digging, etc.) is required. Our volunteers are required to volunteer at least 4 hours per week. The minimum commitment is 100 hours. This opportunity is sponsored by: University Health System- Volunteer Services
