Volunteer Opportunity Details:

The responsibilities of the One-on-One tutor position includes: Meeting with their assigned student at least once a week for two hours. The Volunteer Tutor and the student will be matched according to the skills of the tutor and the inabilities of the student. Instruction by the volunteer tutor can focus on any of the following: English, Math, History, literacy, preparing for the GED test, spelling or other areas where the student needs help. The Tutor-Student relationship is a mutual learning experience where both the tutor and student develop skills and understanding.

Potential volunteer tutors are expected to participate in training provided by Benitia Center's staff. All classes must be held at the Benitia Family Center or at a public Library.
