Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on August 18, 2009

In our Community-Based program, the volunteer visits with the child 2-4 times a month, often doing activities in the community. We encourage volunteers to have visits which incorporate the child into their day-to-day routine and are low cost or free(i.e. running errands, washing the car, baking cookies, etc). Of course, it is fun to do special events too, such as going to an amusement park or the movies on special occasions. In our School-Based program, the volunteer visits with the child once a week at their elementary or middle school. Volunteers can visit the school and have lunch with the child, help with homework, play games or simply talk.

All volunteers must be at least 18 years old and be willing to make a minimum of a one year commitment to the program. Volunteers must complete our screening process and training. A Big Couple is a married husband and wife who volunteer together to mentor a Little Brother.
