With the help of volunteers mid-day, hot nutritious meals are delivered to senior citizens and the disabled that are living alone, fighting chronic illness, battling loneliness, are not able to cook for themselves, cannot get to a senior nutrition center for lunch or that cannot afford a provider. Volunteers are needed to donate their lunch hour once a week or every other week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Meals on Wheels has up to 60 official meal pick up sites within Bexar County that we can match a volunteer with.
The requirements to become a Meals on Wheels meal delivery driver are simple. The volunteer must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license and automobile insurance. All meal delivery volunteers must go through a one orientation, which is held every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. This opportunity is sponsored by: Christian Senior Services
