 City Year San Antonio (AmeriCorps) is engaging young people between the ages of 17-24 to tutor and mentor children full-time for ten months (Aug. 2008-June 2009)in five elementary schools in San Antonio, as well as lead high school students in amazing community service projects on Saturdays. At City Year the benefits never end.
- Making a difference in a life of a child
- Earning $150-$250 per week living allowance
- Receiving up to $4,725 for college tuition, job training and student
loan repayment
- Competing for a $3,000 scholarship to any Alamo Community College
District (ACCD) schools
- Wearing a Timberland issued uniform
- Qualifying for health insurance and child care
- Developing career and leadership skills
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- You must be an U.S. citizen or possess Permanent Resident status
- Between the ages of 17 and 24 years old
- A high school graduate or GED recipient or agree in writing to work
toward during your experience
- Must not have served more than one term in another AmeriCorps program
- Since we work in school, you must consent to a criminal background
investigation
