We would like volunteers with interests in music, art and dance to help with planned activities for the students in our SCHI program for young adults with disabilities. SCHI offers a transitional education in life and vocational skills so that our students may reach their highest level of independence. An example of an activity might be a group of students leading an hip-hop dance class. Or a group might get together and organize basketball games with the students, or a karaoke event.
Having fun and building social skills would be the goals of these activities!
We also offer intern programs and are looking for volunteers that are familiar with American Sign Language. Health professionals in training might volunteer to help our staff nurse with classes and administrative details.
Our campus is undergoing some renovation and we could use help from gardeners to design landscaping for renovated areas.
