The mission of the Spokane Valley Partners is to provide basic life necessities, teach life skills that promote self-reliance, address emotional and psychological needs. We do this by collaborating with other charitable and government agencies to enrich the quality of community life.

Description:
Spokane Valley Partners, formerly the Spokane Valley Community Center & Food Bank, serves as the only comprehensive source of social services between the Spokane City Limits and the Idaho border. We provide outreach and services to over 70,000 people. Our campus is home to several other organizations and also provides meeting space for a variety of community-building purposes. In addition, SVP runs programs of its own to provide needed goods and services to low income families in our service area. Examples of these services include our Clothing Bank, Food Bank, Emergency Assistance for utilities, prescriptions and other essentials, protective payee services, Community Voice Mail, Have-A-Heart Valentine Program, Smart Start School Supplies, Coats 4 Kids, and Season of Sharing Gift Distribution.

History:
Spokane Valley Partners is a prime example of how much good can come to a community from a broad based effort that reaches across traditional boundaries. Founded in 1989 by concerned citizens and local churches, SVP has expanded its reach since its early beginnings. A move in 2002 to our Broadway location provided a unique ability to provide many centrally located services allowing families to tap into these services such as the Women, Infant, and Children program (WIC), the Valley Food Bank (which merged with the Center in 2006), the Clothing Bank, Spokane Neighborhood Action Programs (SNAP), and seasonal programs, without having to make time-consuming and emotionally-draining trips all over the county. Our new name, Spokane Valley Partners, reflects a renewed vision of prosperity for all of our citizens; and partnering is at the heart of our approach to our work.
