Services to Armed Forces (SAF)

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on June 30, 2009

While the American Red Cross is not government-funded or a government agency, it has had a long tradition of service to the men and women of the armed forces.

Visiting Vet Volunteer
Our Visiting Vets cart is filled with comfort kits, snacks, games, and a variety of other fun and useful items designed to provide comfort to hospitalized veterans. Volunteers at the Spokane VA Medical Center visit with veterans, give out goodies, and provide support and camaraderie to these important men and women that have served our country.

Driver - Spokane VA Medical Center
Many veterans need transportation to and from their appointments at the Medical Center. Volunteers use VA Center vehicles to help veterans with their transportation needs.

Fairchild AFB Receptionist
In support of service members and their families, volunteers staff the Red Cross desk at the Airman & Family Readiness Center at FAFB to answer questions about Services to Armed Forces (SAF) as well as provide information about various volunteer opportunities with the Red Cross.
