Campus Environmental Center
Valuing the growth of a genuine culture of sustainability, the Campus Environmental Center’s mission is to engage the UT community in reducing the negative environmental impacts of our operations as a campus, local, and global community through collaborative and constructive means.
Description:
These are our long-term goals:
- to collaborate with University of Texas entities and off-campus partners to foster change in policy and practice toward a more sustainable campus;
- to educate the student body and larger university community about sustainability and environmental issues;
- to develop knowledgeable and skilled student leaders through direct participation in Campus Environmental Center projects and programs.
We have many different committees that people can participate in. They are: = EcoReps educate dorm residents to live green = Events and Publicity plans CEC events = Food makes eating at UT greener = Gardening runs on-campus gardens = Green Living education = Orange Bike Project = Recycling Task Force = Trash to Treasure = Students for a Sustainable Campus through greenbuilding, transportation, and climate action = Recruitment & Socials = Green Greeks Within these committees we run many different programs, such as Trash to Treasure, the Residence Hall Energy Challenge, and ink, plastic, and aluminum recycling.
