Austin Area Garden Center

The purpose of this organization is to promote the education of citizens and youth in the art of gardening for beautification of home and countryside.

History:
For more than 50 years, the Austin Area Garden Center (a group of more than 33 garden clubs) has partnered with the City of Austin's Parks & Recreation Department on developing and maintaining Zilker Botanical Garden. This partnership continues today with the revitalization of the famous Taniguchi Japanese Garden and the popularity of the Hartman Prehistoric Garden.
