Our mission is to match mentors and volunteers with youth between the ages of 5-17 years of age living in the 78744 area of Austin, Texas, with purpose of increasing the number of young people making safe and healthy lifestyle choices, including college and career.

Description:
River City Youth Foundation is a non-profit organization serving youth and families in the Austin community for over 20 years. RCYF offers services to youth in the 78744 area of southeast Austin, including mentorship by volunteers, service groups and college interns. Working with students, ages 5-17 years of age, offers to the chance for volunteers to make a profound difference in a child's life. Mentors and volunteers have the opportunity to work with children on our beautiful 2-acre parkland and Success Center, including a computer learning lab.

History:
The history of River City Youth Foundation includes numerous collaborations with universities, nonprofits and community organizations to offer support and services to youth living in Austin, Texas. Since 1999, the Success Center has been located in Dove Springs, 78744, located in southeast Austin. Award-winning programs include the Computer Learning Lab, the Neighborhood Youth Corps, I Can Be Me, Summer of Safety and the MY Hero! Mentorship Partnership. The Executive Director, Mona Gonzalez, works with a staff of health and safety for young people between the ages of 5-17 years of age to promote college and career options.
