Agency Details:
Texas Wranglers
The Texas Wranglers are a group of University of Texas students committed to serving the Austin community. We are pleased to announce the 11th annual City Wide Hold Up taking place on November 22, 2008.
Description:
For the past eight years the Texas Wranglers have put on the City Wide Hold Up to raise money for Easter Seals–Central Texas. The event draws over 600 volunteers each year and sends them to street corners to “hold up” passing motorists for change. For more information about the Texas Wranglers, please visit www.texaswranglers.org/
History:
Easter Seals-Central Texas has been providing direct services to children and adults with disabilities in the Austin Metropolitan area for over 50 years. Easter Seals offers a wide range of specialized services, such as Early Childhood Intervention, Outpatient Rehabilitation and Work Force Development, to assist people of all ages with disabilities in meeting their goals for maximum independence, equality, dignity and quality of life. Over the past eight years, with the help of over 5300 volunteers, City Wide Hold Up has raised over $215,000 for Easter Seals in only 42 hours! Our goal for 2006 is $35,000, which can be met and surpassed with your support. This would put the grand total over a milestone $250,000! Please volunteer for this event and help us continue this tradition of excellence and make City Wide Hold Up one of Easter Seals’ biggest fundraisers for the 9th year in a row.
