Junior Achievement Of Central Texas
The mission of Junior Achievement is to ensure that every child in Central Texas has a fundamental understanding of the free enterprise system.
Description:
Junior Achievement sends volunteers into kindergarten through 12th-grade classrooms to help students understand how business works. Volunteers share their experiences and present materials and lessons that are fun, colorful and interactive for students, while user-friendly for the volunteers themselves. JA volunteers need not be trained educators, but simply interested in helping young people understand their future and their potential. Program themes vary from grade to grade, with each focused on helping students to create opportunities for themselves.
History:
Since 1919, Junior Achievement's purpose has been to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise and understand business and economics to improve the quality of their lives. Junior Achievement is the world's largest and fastest growing non-profit economic education organization. Our programs are taught by classroom volunteers from the business community across America and in over 103 countries worldwide.
