Agency Details:
Volunteer & Service Learning Center
Our objective is to provide volunteer opportunities to students at The University of Texas at Austin with the ultimate goal of serving the needs of our community while enriching the lives of those participating in our programs.
Description:
Volunteering is one of the most effective ways for students to put to work the philosophies, skills, and theories learned in class. Following the core purpose of this university, we serve "to transform lives for the benefit of society" through leadership and service.
History:
We were part of the Office of the Dean of Students from 1994 to 2006, to help UT students find volunteer opportunities for their various objectives - class, organizations, the court system, and just for fun. In January 2007, we officially became part of the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement, but our location and objectives have not changed.
