Help English refugees and immigrants from around the world. English at Work is looking for bilingual volunteers to conduct student intake interviews. In an effort to help ease our students into the classroom, we have started an intake program at the start of each new class. One component of the intake is a one-on-one interview to help address any barriers that might prevent students from being successful in the classroom. We need interviewers that are warm and sensitive to the challenges of our students. Student challenges range from poor eyesight to learning disabilities or domestic problems.
We need bilingual speakers to conduct the interviews in students' native language. While the majority of our students are Spanish speakers, we have refugee students from around the world. Besides Spanish, our biggest need has been for Farsi speakers. This opportunity is sponsored by: English at Work - TX - Austin
