This opportunity allows volunteers to interact with pet owners and their animals. Volunteers will experience the front-of-house administration and business of running a veterinarian clinic. This is an exciting hands-on and interactive position that allows for new experiences each time a volunteer serves. *Greet, welcome, and direct Clients as they arrive at the clinic for better efficiency and service. *Check in clients bringing their animals for wellness services: vaccinations, preventative medication purchases, etc. *Check out clients, including payment collection after service has been performed or purchase has been made. *Assist in answering pet health care related questions with the help of clinic staff. *Assist with answering phones. *Assist with billing for services.
- Gopher, offer general support: prep rabies/registration tags, label products, restocking exam rooms.
Volunteers must be 17 years of age. We are unable to accommodate individuals seeking to fulfill court-ordered community service hours. It is preferred that volunteers wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing. No uniform or special attire is required. Contact volunteer coordinator to schedule a 30 minute tour of the Animal Trustees of Austin clinic facility, then a 2 hour training session on specific duties to be carried out during volunteer shift will be scheduled. Hours: Monday-Wednesday 10am-6pm, Saturday 9am-6pm, Sunday noon-4pm, 3 hour shifts during this time frame.
