Holiday Swing 2009! Help raise funds for HIV/AIDS Services in Austin! One day project.

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on October 22, 2009

Project Transitions is a local non-profit that provides hospice and housing to people living with HIV/AIDS regardless of their ability to pay. Holiday Swing is our largest fundraiser of the year, and we need 200 volunteers to make it happen!

The 21st Annual Holiday Swing takes place on Saturday, December 5th, 2009, at the Dell Jewish Community Center, at 7300 Hart Lane, Austin.

Volunteers can help with setup from 8 am to noon, or noon to 4, security from 4 to 6:30, event shifts during the party (6:15 to 9:30 or 9:15 to midnight), and packup, from 11:30 pm to 1:30 am.

Volunteers can help fulfill many roles at the party, from bartending to decorating, to acting as a Personal Table Waiter for the large donor tables.

Most volunteer shifts at Holiday Swing are 3 or 4 hours long. You could help setup the morning of the event, volunteer at one of two shifts during the party itself, or help with our greatest need: loading up at the end of the night.

-This is a great, rewarding event for groups-

Groups are most helpful during setup or packup. And, all volunteers are invited to come to the party early or stay after their shift to be our guest at the event. The party will have a free photo booth, a 26-piece swing dance orchestra, three party rooms, and a roaring 20's look. Costumes are encouraged!

If you would like more information, contact Callie Thompson, the Project Transitions Volunteer Coordinator, at: 512.454.8646 or cthompson@projecttransitions.org

No skills required. Just a desire to have fun and help raise funds for hospice and housing for people living with HIV/AIDS in Austin.
