Immediate Availabilities for Site Captains and Outreach Volunteers with Austin CarShare!

Are you ready to directly impact change? Each Austin CarShare vehicle in place results in 12 less cars on the road, 4,000 gallons of gas saved per year, and 21,000 fewer pounds of carbon are released into the atmosphere.

Currently, there are six carshare vehicles being used by members throughout Austin - two downtown, two at UT, and two in the neighborhood of Hyde Park. In addition, two new cars will soon be added to the fleet, one at the Triangle and another at Mellow Johnny's Bike Shop.

In order to get these new cars implemented, we must register 30-40 people that live within a quarter mile of each new vehicle (which will be a Prius) as members. I am looking for a Site Captain and Outreach Volunteers for both of the new carshare locations. The difference between the positions is an issue of availability. The site captain will contribute more time to CarShare than a volunteer.

The goal is to get people thinking about and acting upon different ways they can change their wasteful lifestyles by spreading the word about carsharing. This involves interacting with businesses and individuals who reside within a quarter mile of the car. If you are interested in volunteering, or would like more information regarding Austin CarShare and it's benefits both to people and the environment, please do not hesitate to contact me by email or phone. I look forward to hearing from you!

There are no specific requirements of volunteers.
