If so, you have what it takes to be a meaningful part of our students' lives and a crucial part of our movement to improve public education. At Citizen Schools, our students work on their homework after school and also take part in creative activities where they learn hands-on, practical skills. We love giving our kids opportunities to learn and grow! However, at each of our campuses we have a staff of only 7-9(truly dedicated and talented) educators. To really serve our students as they deserve, we need people like yourself to devote just one hour a week to: WORK WITH STUDENTS ON THEIR HOMEWORK (Do you remember how to turn fractions into percentages? How to factor and divide? If so, you can be an amazing help to students who struggle daily with their math homework and just need a little one-on-one attention to improve.) SUPERVISE THE COMPUTER LAB (Our students have a fantastic assortment of computers to work on here at Bedichek and Kealing --but unless we have a volunteer to supervise the computer lab, our students can't utilize them to play online math games, complete research projects, or create beats on GarageBand. Volunteer one hour of your time a week and open up this opportunity for our kids!) Our fall semester starts up on September 8th. If you would be interested in volunteering your time for any of these positions, please email Leanne at leannevalenti@citizenschools.org for Bedichek or Joycelyn at joycelynjurado@citizenschools.org for Kealing. We are looking for volunteers who are committed to volunteering during a regular time slot (i.e. 3:30-4:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays)throughout the semester.
You do not need to have teaching experience, but you most possess patience and a dedication to serving our students. You also need to commit to showing up consistently throughout the semester. This opportunity is sponsored by: Citizen Schools At Bedichek & Kealing Middle Schools
