English/Spanish Interpreter for Prevent Blindness Texas

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on May 19, 2009

We need volunteers to provide English/Spanish interpretation and translation. There are numerous opportunities and venues in which to perform this important service. On-site interpreters are needed at various locations around Austin where we perform free vision screenings in the community. There is also a need for interpreters to translate phone messages for non-Spanish speaking staff as well as relaying information to clients regarding our services.

Volunteers should be able to understand and speak Spanish and English. If providing written translations, the ability to write in both languages is required. Knowledge of Prevent Blindness Texas' is not necessary. Your training will be "on the job". Must enjoy dealing with clients and posses an interest in social services.
