Volunteer Opportunity Details:

At Open Door, we strive to give each child as much individual attention as possible. The classroom teachers can only do so much when they have more than 10 small children running around their room during a lesson, which is why we love student volunteers. If you are interested in social work (especially as it relates to low income families and their children) or early childhood education, you can learn a lot from the children at Open Door. We have some student with special needs that need a little extra attention to help them meet their individualized developmental goals. We also have "at-risk" students that benefit greatly from a mentor and friend such as a University of Texas student.

You must undergo a criminal history background check and complete a one hour orientation.
