Help 6th grade students build the foundation and passion to become life-long readers! Partners in Literature volunteers lead student groups in discussions of high-interest short stories, poetry, and non-fiction articles to promote reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. A team of volunteers is in the classroom for 45 minutes once a week during Language Arts classes. Each volunteer works with a small group of 2-4 students. The teacher is always in the classroom to provide support. Materials and training are provided. Program runs from October through May, and volunteers are asked to commit for the entire school year. Interested volunteers can register by going to www.classroomcoaching.org, clicking on Volunteer, and following the directions. Once you register you will be contacted to schedule training.
