Do you want to make a difference in a child's life? Do you have at least 1 hour of spare time during the week? Research shows that mentoring keeps students engaged in the learning process, reduces the dropout rate, and increases the likelihood of graduation. Having an adult take an interest in a child is a primary reason for a student to stay in school. As a mentor and role model, you can inspire a child to develop new interests and career possibilities. Mentors also learn about the issues facing young people today and potentially develop a lifelong friendship. Commitment: Meet with one student once per week for 30-60 minutes at the school for the remainder of the school year. English and bilingual speakers are needed. Mentors make a difference!
