May 23, 7AM-5PM,
1. History: USATF(United States Track and Field) is the primary organization that oversees and promotes track and field in America. Mostly known for fielding the US Olympic Track and Field Team, USATF also is active in Youth, Masters, and Athletics for the Disabled.
2. Mission: Promote track and field as a sport for life for ALL ages.
The work you will do:
1. Pretty simple stuff…like measuring throws, timing races, recording results. No experience necessary. Main thing is that if someone commits to a time, they must follow through or find a replacement!!! Best that these volunteers be at least age 12 and up. We do ask that you commit to at least one 5-hour shift(7-12, 9-2, 11-4, 1-6)
2. There will be an official at each event who will provide instructions.
Also consider entering your group as a team and participating in some of the events. For entry info, go to: http://usatfsouthtexas.org/

FINAL NOTE: We need to know names and times by May 15. It doesn't help us that much if volunteers just "show up", as they need to be assigned to specific tasks, based on the hours that can be worked.
