10K Hours Show - Quad Cities
The 10,000 Hours Show Quad Cities - 10KQC is a year-round effort to engage young people in volunteer service with a great reward - a free concert for which the admission is 10 or more volunteer hours to local nonprofits. Already established at schools like University of Iowa, Iowa State University, Drake University and University of Wisconsin-Madison, the program makes a direct impact in the area through the service of future community leaders and citizens. Additionally, it has brought bands like Guster, Cake, Jack's Mannequin and OkGo! to thousands of fans who volunteer.
Description:
10KQC is being produced locally through a partnership of students from area high schools and colleges. United Way of the Quad Cities Area supplies advice and support to these volunteer organizations. Community leaders also help the program by mentoring the 10KQC Student Leadership Team at a variety of positions. To become a 10KQC Community Mentor, please email 10KQC@unitedwayqc.org.
