MADD
Our mission is to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime, and to prevent underage drinking
Description:
Our agency provides support to victims and victim families to include emotional support and advocacy. We provide community education and awareness of this tragic problem along with lobbying to change the laws to stop drunk driving completely.
History:
MADD was founded in 1980 and over the last 30 years the number of people that have been killed by a drunk driver has decreased greatly, but is still happening at an alarming rate. MADD has been instrumental in helping to save over 300,000 lives in the past 25 years by being a part of the 21 law and the .08 BAC law. MADD is the nation's largest cost-free victim assistance organization and served locally over 1,000 victim families in the past year.
