Fairlight Community Gardens

Fairlight Community Gardens strives to make healthy, organic food available and accessible to all individuals in the community, regardless of their financial status.

Description:
Fairlight Community Gardens is a community oriented garden project sponsored by Mesilla Valley Community of Hope, an agency providing outreach services for the homeless and near homeless populations. Our largest garden sits on 1/4 acre of land behind the agency and includes a comunity-built greenhouse. We also maintain gardens at the sites of our various housing programs- the Veterens' Transitional Oak St. Apartments and Abode Housing First Program.

Volunteer are welcome Wednesday or Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., we also run a low income CSA out of the garden. This is a work/trade program providing weekly fresh veggies for 5 hours of work in the garden per month.

History:
Fairlight Community Gardens began in the Spring of 2008.
