Description:
Saco Spirit is a Main Street Maine Organization,non-profit, that works from a comprehensive 4-point approach to enhance the vitality of Saco's Downtown. The 4 points being Promotion, Organization, Economic Restructuring, and Design. We are a part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and work with the Maine Downtown Center, which is a program of the Maine Development Foundation. The mission of the Mane Downtown Center is to foster dynamic, community-based downtown development, resulting in economic development, business growth, job creation, housing revitalization historic preservation, and cultural enhancement.

History:
Saco Spirit was formed out of the Saco Business Association and the organization has been active for 5 years. We are funded 1/3 City, 1/3 public donation and 1/3 private donation. The organization is governed by a body of 17 Board Members that meet monthly to review progress in the community and promote stability.
