CrisisLink
CrisisLink saves lives and prevents tragedies. We give vital support to those facing life crises, trauma and suicide, and provide information, education and links to community resources to empower people to help themselves.
Description:
For 38 years, CrisisLink has provided citizens of the greater D.C. region with free, confidential and accessible crisis, suicide and information & referral services. Our services are provided through: a 24 hour/7 day a week Hotline; a youth outreach and education initiative called You Talk, We Listen; CareRing, a daily telephone check-in program for elderly and disabled citizens; Crisis Response Teams; and Community Education programs.
Our crisis hotline volunteers do amazing things. They answer the crisis hotlines from 8 AM - Midnight, 7 days a week. Over 100 volunteers dedicate 3 hours of their week to our community by answer calls from those in need.
Our volunteers off the hotlines are just as important and truly help save lives and prevent tragedies just as often. Our Community Outreach Team distributes wallet cards and posters to local agencies, organizations, and groups. Our Board of Directors and Committee members help raise funds and govern our organization. Our researchers and database entry volunteers help our organization continue to thrive and grow even with a small staff!
Join a team of amazing volunteers and learn the many ways you can be a hero for those in need with CrisisLink.
