Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on November 5, 2009 |
Wheels to Africa is an organization that was founded by an 11 year old Arlington County boy named Winston Duncan in December 2005. Since 2005, there have been four bike collections with over 2000 bikes collected and donated. The most recent collection in December 2008 set a record – collecting 1000 bikes in ONE day. The community and individual support received by Wheels to Africa has propelled the organization to expand its reach to enlist more communities to donate bikes and financial support. Wheels to Africa needs volunteers to help at its bike collection in Arlington and the metro DC area. Arlington Sites: Swanson Middle School & Nottingham Elementary School
