Do you have a desire to give back to the community? The Arlington Red Cross transportation program provides rides to seniors for medical appointments and grocery shopping within Arlington County. Drivers (both regulars and substitutes) are urgently needed!
Volunteers should have basic knowledge of Arlington County and/or the ability to use maps and written directions. Volunteers must possess a valid driver's license, have a safe DMV record, and be comfortable driving sedans and/or mini-vans. Other training will be provided as required. Drivers will work closely with the Transportation Scheduler and other volunteers on a regular basis. Positions are available for regular route drivers or those who just wish to volunteer on an as-needed basis. A minimum of 4 hours/shift per week is requested of regular drivers.
If interested, please contact Heather Pritchett at hpritchett@arlingtonredcross.org or 703-527-3010, ext.735.
All volunteers must attend a New Volunteer Orientation (offered once every few weeks). Background checks are required.
