Violence Intervention Program Seeks Hotline Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to staff the Violence Intervention Program (VIP) 24-hour hotline that provides support, crisis counseling, information and referrals to those affected by domestic violence or sexual assault.
After taking part in a training program, volunteers work hotline shifts and can answer calls from their home phone or cell phone. Volunteers receive ongoing support and supervision and always have access to a staff person if they need help with a hotline call.
We are especially in need of bilingual volunteers and volunteers who are available to take weekend shifts.
Serving as a volunteer is an opportunity to offer assistance to those who are coping with very painful situations.
