Family Fun Night is an opportunity for families with children on the Autism spectrum to enjoy a relaxing evening of play and socializing. This popular program (we sometimes have up to 60 or more people!) happens the 3rd Friday of the month, from 7-8:30 p.m. Families and their children can take part in sports, games, crafts and usually some sort of organized instructional activity.
Volunteers are needed to assist with craft activities, help lead games and sports, and generally try to engage children and parents in the different activities offered each session.
What we mostly need are people who enjoy being with other people, who can engage easily with parents and children, and most importantly to feel comfortable around people with differing ability levels - specifically persons along the Autism spectrum. Prior experience is not necessary, but desire and ability to work with minimal supervision is!
This opportunity is sponsored by: Therapeutic Recreation/Prevention Intervention, Arlington County PRCR
