Are you keen with your household budget? Would you like to help individuals with everyday budgeting issues? Do you like to speak to groups? Even if you only answer yes to one of our questions, this volunteer opportunity is for you! We are seeking volunteers that would help individuals and head of households learn about very day financial matters. The volunteer would help:
Reconcile debts
Set goals
Budget their spending
Save money for important purchases
Organize financial records
Teach sound money management skills
Control cash flow
Volunteers receive:
A comprehensive training manual with information on budgeting, retirement planning, saving and investing, home buying, and many other finance topics
Instruction in counseling techniques
Lists of other community resources of use to clients
A quarterly newsletter
Supplemental trainings throughout the year to build skills and knowledge
Recognition through an annual event and quarterly awards.
If you would like to volunteer, please attend our next training classes posted in the scheduled below. Besides receiving training, volunteers will have supervision and mentoring by the program manager. A commitment of one semester is required. The next volunteer training will be:
Saturdays, November 7 and 14 from 10:00 to 4:00 p.m., at Fairlington Community Center located at 3308 S Stafford Street, Room 100, Arlington, VA 22206
