Crossroads Community Ministries, Inc.
Moving people who are homeless from dependency to economic self-sufficiency and personal fulfillment through the power of personal relationships.
Description:
Crossroads Community Ministries, Inc. serves as a 'primary' first stop for those who are homeless- men, women and children. Primary services offered: a mailing address, a mail room, ID assistance from anywhere in the U.S., employment related transportation help, extensive case management, a special program for our guests with disabilities, a hot meal 6 days/week and free health care on site provide by Mercy Care Services.
History:
Since 1973 this location has been providing services to those that are homeless. First as the St. Luke's soup kitchen and since 1996 as Crossroads Community Ministries, Inc. From the experience of the early volunteers, it became apparent that to impact/transform lives and improve opportunities, greater involvement with each person was needed. That energy led to the creation of Crossroads. Building relationships with other humans, who happened to be homeless, became the foundation block for Crossroads.
