The JA Fellows program is currently looking for business professionals, entrepreneurs, community leaders and graduate students to serve as volunteers for the Spring Semester. As volunteers, you will serve as mentors to motivate these students to help equip them with the necessary skills to become successful and effectively compete in the global economy.
Volunteer training will begin January 3, 2008 and the program will begin January 29. There are convenient JA Locations all around metro Atlanta including Downtown, Sandy Springs, Norcross, Cobb and N. Fulton County. For more information on the JA Fellows program, visit www.jafellows.com. To become a JA Fellows volunteer, please contact Audrey Treasure at (404) 257-1932 est. 219.
The JA Fellows program offers high school students throughout metro Atlanta a unique opportunity to gain hands-on leadership and business skills by working alongside their peers to build and manage a business, interact with prominent Atlanta business and community leaders and to pursue bold and ambitious goals. This semester alone, they have started their own small businesses, sold stock options, developed and marketed a product or service, and sold it to the general public. These kids are getting real world experiences that a graduate student would envy!
As such, we would like to encourage members of your organizations to Get Involved With Tomorrow’s Business Leaders Today – Become a JA Fellows Volunteer.
These kids are highly motivated and have a strong desire to succeed. They have big dreams of being aerospace engineers, brain surgeons, and entrepreneurs – and those are just words from those that I have met personally! The kids I am speaking of are called JA Fellows – students who participate in a program offered by Junior Achievement of Georgia (www.georgia.ja.org).
