Prevent Child Abuse (PCA) Georgia is currently looking for volunteers for our 1-800-CHILDREN Helpline which provides emotional support, resources and referrals to callers from across the state. We will train you to respond to questions about suspected child abuse and teach you how to offer support to struggling parents, survivors of abuse, and adolescents facing everyday challenges. You will also learn ways to help callers problem solve and connect to available community resources. Our Helpline operates between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Scheduling is flexible and you can volunteer during times that best fit your busy lifestyle.
You don't have to be a trained counselor or posses a background in social work. All you have to do is attend three in-depth training sessions*. The next training dates are scheduled as follows: DAY | DATE | TIME | Saturday | January 22nd | 9:00 am - 3:00 pm | Tuesday | January 25th | 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm | Wednesday | January 26th | 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm |
Training will take place at PCA Georgia's office located at 1720 Peachtree Street, NW, Suite 600 in Atlanta. (*Volunteers are required to attend all three sessions.)
